mind expanding nonsense

Love Rockets

I found a business card at the Gym, and on it was a graphic of a cowgirl straddling a banner waving her hat. Wow, what a loaded picture. It impressed me so much, I took the card home and drew from it, placing her on a rocket instead. Had to name it Love Rocket, for again that name conjures up potent visual and metaphorical images, with a mix of sensuality and raw power.

Most men will no doubt think of a Love Rocket as their wee wees. And rightly so. Rockets are equated with power. Phallic in nature; thrusting head on to new heights. Add love, with sensuality and desire thrown in, and this symbol becomes the ultimate expression of manhood. Male energy. [This isn’t going where ya might think, so hold on].

But a cow-girl riding a rocket? I don’t know. Maybe she’s just a fun loving gal, going along for a wild ride. Or, instead of the bucking bronco, maybe she’s riding it more like a well trained horse. A big powerful animal between her legs, yet in full control of where things are going: Female Energy

It sure seems like everything in our society is being driven by male energy. Business, Politics, and especially entertainment.. The females we see are sexy and hot, but exhibit an aggressive, pushy, thrusting-like behavior. Take Sarah Palin. She’s hot, attractive, and a real “attack dog” type of female politician (please Sarah run; it’d be so much fun). A real ‘American Woman’. Well, not really. I see her as male energy packaged into pencil skirt, lipstick and a nice rack. She’s one of the most aggressive businessmen out there, shamelessly promoting her own brand, to inflate her already large ego . She does hide behind the feminine when her critics fire back, when she doesn’t want to take any flack, or responsibility for what she says.

So here’s the point. This world of ours is dominated by just too much male energy. There’s no balance. If ya step back and take a look at it; and this may be an invitation to step into my mind for a bit, ya just might find that there could be an alternative universe out there worthy of pursuit. So come on in , but watch your step, it’s slippery inside.

For an alternative to this present day madness, you gotta go to the Goddess for answers. Quan Yin, the goddess of compassion and mercy would be a nice start. Along with Sophia, goddess of wisdom and intuitive knowledge; highly sought after by the ancients. Mary, the immaculate mother is another one, but she’s been taken hostage by men and her true nature stripped away. Once the Great Goddess, Mother of All, she’s now the property of men, but strangely still worshiped for what she really is. Oh yeah, can’t forget Eros or Venus, goddess of love. From which comes the word erotic; eroticism having as much to do with the mind and imagination than pure sensuality. Nothing like the male dominated counterfeit: pornography.

Romantic notions? Maybe. But things would certainly be much different in this world is these figures were revered, and looked to as the personification of our highest of ideals . This whole female energy thing is hard to describe, because it’s so alien to our culture. But it’s powerful, yet not harsh; loving, not demanding; nurturing and patient. Bringing about change by example and teaching. Embracing all, and in Harmony with all. The source from which comes all life.

Well, there ya have it; a nice little fantasy. “Well Hansi” some might say. “You sure had a big helping of medication; that was a real 60’s flashback.” Perhaps. But it’s fun to pretend. And if I’m gonna be in my own little world, that one seems like a pretty nice place to be.

  1. Cool chick. Perfect size bazoombas. Kinda characterizes USA cowboy military foreign policy.

  2. There is plenty of war energy in ancient goddesses as well as gods. The whole “men are warriors, women are lovers” thing is more convenient myth than reality…or have you forgotten Lorena Bobbit?

Here are a few of the female goddesses associated with war and violence…and this is FAR from a complete list:

Agasaya, paired with Ishtar. She is semitic goddess of war. Known as “The shrieker”.

Bellona, Roman war goddess who accompanied Mars into battle wearing a helmet and carrying a spear.

Athena, multi-faceted Grecian goddess or wisdom, crafts, and war.

Ankt, Egyptian spear carrying war goddess.

Ashtart, Canaanite war goddess.Enyo, Grecian horror and war goddess

    Eshara, Chaldean.war goddess.

Point being, humans in general, not men in particular, are violent. If not, a mythical society of warrior women, Amazons, wouldn’t exist in mythology.

    • Hey…that’s something to think about. Seems like the majority of these goddesses are more consorts of their male counterparts than the ones I’m referring to.

  3. Hansi,
Now we know. At heart you a a hopeless romantic. But how could you forget the Valkyries?

  4. Hansi I think you are spot on! It may be self-emasculating to say this but I think that excess testosterone has and is continuing to cause a lot of problems in the world.

As far as the critics of your theory who point out Amazons, Valkyries and Xena the warrior woman, remember who created them.

    • Testosterone poisoning has had it’s impact on the world throughout the ages. There are true goddesses, and there are consorts of the gods. Worship of the goddess stems from a time that predates history, and that was pretty much who I was refereeing to. Hope some women chime in on this one.

  5. Love the cowboy rocket girl.

I wholeheartedly agree that the world has a surplus of testosterone. For the likes of Sarah Palin, I believe being brash and loud is the only way to get noticed in this society. Stupid ass gaffes don’t hurt either. Those with more estrogen seem to blend in with the wallpaper.

Even though there are many examples of warrior women/goddesses, there is true power in the feminine. It’s just subtle and not so “in your face.” Wars have been fought over women, and they weren’t “ball busters.”

    • Seems like you got the meaning of my little fantasy. A true balance of the masculine and feminine are what’s needed in my view. Madams Palin and Bachmann fall way short in that area.

      • Possibly…probably…right.

What drives me nuts is the left’s oblivion to the same thing on their side. If you want brash, loud, and stupid gaffes, you need look no further than Nancy Pelosi.

“We need to pass the healthcare bill so we can see what’s in it.”

It’s hard to sound stupider…or more arrogant…than that.

      • Neither side has a corner on the truth or common sense market. What drives me nuts is the polarization that’s happening politically in this country. Hey we’re all in it together…lets work together. It’s not about the Right or the Left; seems like it’s about the Haves and the Have Nots to me.

      • I like to call Nancy our “pitbull in Armani.” She injects the testosterone in a party that doesn’t have enough. The GOP doesn’t need any more testosterone.

      • I know what ya mean. The democrats seem a little wimpy at times.

  6. Just to be contradictory and because I know you will love me anyway….I recently read a magazine article that discussed the fact that, since the recession, more women are taking executive and high positioned corporate roles than men and that there seems to be a power shift beginning to occur in ‘traditional’ roles. Perhaps the Age of Aquarius is to shift back toward feminine energies again my friend. 😉

    • Still luv ya, contradictatoriness notwithstanding. You’re right. I’ve seen it where I work in probationland. Lots of ladies at the top, in fact our recent ‘chief’ was a woman. I know that for some of us older guys, climbing to the top no longer has a strong appeal. You go girls.
